Lamp is a portable lighting equipment containing incandescent lighting bulb designed to produce light by using electricity. There are many sources of lighting; electric bulb or lamp is one of most popular electric lighting sources. Bulb is a replaceable component that consists of a ceramic or metal base, which makes an electrical connection. This connection is usually made of thread like two metal pins. In this new era, new inventions have been introduced. Electric lamp bulbs are now replaced by incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps. Today, further new technologies have been introduced in the production of light sources.
Electric lamps are also known as incandescent lamps. These are normally called the lighting globes and also called lighting bulbs in the most of English speaking countries. A best advantage of electric lamp is that, it can be created by a wide range of voltages. The electric lamps can be replaced in several applications with the high intensity discharging lamps, LEDs, fluorescent lights and many other devices.
The Halogen lamps are also the forms of electric lamps made as the modern version of the electric lamps. These lamps are smaller than the standard electric lamps and may have smaller bulbs. The surface of these bulbs or lamps become so much hot in the long run and can cause fire. Danger of fire in halogen lamps is much more than the other type of lamps or bulbs. Electric lamps are available in the market in lots of designs, sizes and shapes. These are available in the market at very low and affordable prices.
